‘Tis the season to be careful with Holiday traffic

The holidays are the time of year for a lot of people to be on the road.  This results in extra holiday traffic and unfortunately more accidents.  This past Thanksgiving, Georgia State patrol reported 15 fatalities on the road between Wednesday 6p and Sunday midnight.  The areas these fatalities occurred were Gwinnett, Cartersville, Blue Ridge, Forsyth, Villa Rica, Richmond and Sylvania.  The good news is  the number of car accidents during the Thanksgiving holiday were slightly down from 2010.  In 2010, there were 437 crashes, and 397 injuries.  This year the Georgia state patrol reported 434 crashes and 247 injuries.

The next heavy travel time will be the last two weeks in December.   If you are traveling for Christmas or New Years, please be very aware of your surroundings.   Don’t let distractions interfere with your driving, don’t drive under the influence, and please no texting.  It only takes a split second in traffic to change your life and the lives of your passengers in an accident.  Have a wonderful holiday season and please be careful.  If you, or someone you know, needs legal advice on personal injury from a car accident call the office of James B.
